Rather than imposing a contrasting aesthetic, the design creates a measured dialogue between original Mediterranean details, modern furnishings, and carefully selected period pieces. The family room addition was given greater architectural presence with a new fireplace, creating a natural focal point and a more intimate setting for daily life. The kitchen was comprehensively updated to provide modern functionality while remaining sympathetic to the scale and spirit of the original residence. An underused garage was converted into a two-person office with integrated storage, allowing the home to accommodate professional life without compromising its principal living spaces.
