residential | Marnia Renovation , CA

The lifestyle of 1930’s San Francisco Marina meant that multiple generations lived under the same roof in myriad small rooms. We gutted the entire interior of this home and added industiral skylights, a ground floor family room, large master bath and bedroom and hidden outdoor spaces. A winding metal staircase leads to a magical sleeping loft, and delightful corners of privacy coexist in a truly three floor open concept.

Our clients are avid environmentalists and Buddhist so we mixed modern and Asian inspired furnishings, threw in some authentic Mid-Century modern chairs, custom designed rugs, family heirlooms and treasures from travels, combining old with new and unique with a powerfully modern yet cozy affect.
